Hello, and welcome to the first post in the literary world of Ronald Cosgood – not my real name of course, but I’m not exactly hiding.
The simple truth is that I have done so much writing over the years, and in different genres, that it is always a good idea to keep things separate. The last thing that anyone wants is to buy a new hard-SF novel only to find a romantic comedy hiding behind the cover (not that is, that I write romantic comedies).
What you are reading has been a long time coming. I have been seriously reading and writing since I was a child, so I have amassed quite a huge volume of material over more than five decades. Real-life often intrudes in what you want to do on your journey however, and at no point have I felt the opportunity and time to look at publishing anything.
While I have had a number of short films made from my scripts, this year I finally took the plunge and started to organise my work for publication. Since I started writing however, so many new ways of getting a book out into the world have materialised and it has been a hard decision as to which way to go.
For now, most of the work that you see on the website is going to be published independently – I will post links to the online distributors where you can pick them up, as well as links to the ‘coming soon’ and ‘pre-orders’ that will no doubt appear along the way. There will also be a few traditionally published works as well, but while I have a small collection of work that has been included in anthologies (mainly for charity), these will not be included. Only the work of Ronald Cosgood will appear on the site.
So buckle up, and join me on my publishing experiences – hopefully, we’ll all enjoy the ride!
