Data Protection and GDPR

Being in the IT world and actually administering this area of data for private companies and government organisations, it is no wonder that Ronald takes this side of the website very seriously.

If you sign up to this website, all of the data that you provide follows the guidelines set down by the GDPR, the most important of which include:

Safety and Security
All of your data is stored securely, and is only accessible to ourselves internally. If you have signed up to our newsletter, this is the only time that your data will be used externally to the website, and this only because of the very specific need to get the newsletter to you by email.

Suitability
We do not record information about you that is not strictly required for use by the services that the website provides. We record some of your details for safety and security regarding your use of any forum or comment posts that you make, and contact details for the same reason and so that we can get a newsletter to you (if you opted to receive it).

Duration
We will only store your data for the duration where you receive a service from us, or if there is some statutory legislation that requires us to keep it longer (e.g. if purchases are made, UK Accounting Legislation will also come into play). If you choose to leave the website, chances are that all of your data will be immediately removed. Do allow however, that this will also include any associations with posts that you have made.

Removal and Correction
You have the right to have any data about yourself corrected if it is in error, or removed completely from the website (what is often erroneously termed, the right to be forgotten). Unless there is a specific statutory and legal reason not to do so, we will correct / remove your data immediately.

This is only a very small summary of your rights under UK Data Protection / GDPR legislation. If you want to see the full, current to the moment coverage of your rights, please go to the UK Government webpage at https://www.gov.uk/data-protection
